Lorraine Little makes key progress in EPO-TBI study

EPO-TBI 125Lorraine Little is making important progress as project manager of the EPO-TBI Study, having enrolled her 404th patient this week.

Her colleagues at the Australian & New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) surprised her with a morning tea to congratulate her on her efforts.

They also presented her with a certificate to acknowledge her hard work and dedication to the study.

The EPO-TBI Study aims to find out if erythropoietin – a hormone that controls red blood cell production – could have positive neurological effects on patients who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. Ms Little aims to enroll 606 participants into the project.

It will be conducted across Australia, New Zealand, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France, Finland and Singapore, and is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
