New PhD Scholarship Announced

The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) is currently accepting expressions of interest for the Basil Hetzel PhD Scholarship in Diagnostic Science
This is a new scholarship for medical graduates interested in undertaking a PhD in the evaluation of diagnostic testing. The research on diagnostic test evaluation will be undertaken in an academic environment, which includes a diverse range of clinical specialities and will draw on the school’s expertise in biostatistics and statistics modelling.
The school's principal role is to conduct research and to train undergraduate and postgraduate students in public health and preventive medicine

We are the faculty of medicine's principal source of skills in epidemiology (including clinical epidemiology), biostatistics and large scale clinical data-management. With particular expertise in large epidemiological studies, multi centre clinical trials, clinical registries, evidence synthesis and health social science. We work closely with the major Monash affiliated hospitals, research institutes and public health units within Victoria. Our skills provide a key resource underpinning translational research within our Faculty. The focus of the school is the prevention of disease and disability through a commitment to education, innovation, leadership, and research.
