Prof Helena Teede Recognised at 20th Anniversary Premiers Award for Health and Medical Research

At the recent announcement of the 2014 Premiers Award for Health and Medical Research the Victorian Premier, Dr Denis Napthine and Australian Society for Medical Research recognised the exceptional research undertaken by our young Australian scientists.

This year, the 20th Anniversary of the awards, 15 of the past 80 winners and commendees of this prestigious award from 1995 to 2014 were also recognised, based on their highly successful research careers.
These 15 researchers included Professor Helena Teede, Director of the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (2001 commendee), and Head of Diabetes and Vascular Medicine Unit, Monash Health.
Professor Teede initially received her commendation for her work in women’s health.  This year, she was again recognised for her commitment to women’s health research, health care promotion and implementation.  We congratulate Helena for her work that directly focuses on delivering improved health outcomes.
