PhD student Melanie Gibson-Helm receives Postgraduate Publication Award from Monash Institute of Graduate Research

Melanie Gibson-Helm, a PhD student in The School has been awarded a Postgraduate Publication Award from Monash Institute of Graduate Research.


The Postgraduate Publications Awards are designed to encourage research degree candidates to disseminate their research findings to a wider public through publication in professional journals or books. It provides support for students who, having submitted their thesis, wish to write up some of their research for publication while they await the result of their examination.

Melanie says that the award will help her continue her PhD research. 

"This award will support me to write two journal articles related to my PhD research; the first will focus on maternal health and pregnancy outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in Melbourne. The second will report the impact of a continuous quality improvement initiative on pregnancy outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women," she said.
