The Australasian Cochrane Centre abroad

Earlier this month a large contingent from the Australasian Cochrane Centre (ACC) ventured to Vienna to attend the annual Cochrane Colloquium.

Cochrane is an independent, not-for-profit organisation made up of 37,000 contributors from 130 countries, that produces trusted health information in the form of systematic reviews of research.

Cochrane Australia is an active part of this collaborative network, with over 3,000 local researchers, clinicians and patient advocates who synthesise and analyse the latest health research. Contributors come from all over the country.

The five-day event attracted over 1,200 of the best and brightest minds in health research and evidence-based medicine from across the globe.

The Colloquium theme of 'Filtering the information overload for better decisions' proved apt, given the plethora of engaging and informative plenaries, presentations and posters on offer.

ACC staff ran workshops, presented posters, convened symposia and special sessions and spoke at plenaries.
