Dr Harrison’s award enables NHF funded fellows to travel internationally to visit research facilities, drive collaborations, exchange knowledge and skills and encourage innovation.

This award will facilitate international secondment to study best practice in healthy pregnancies around the optimisation of healthy gestational weight gain, as well as provide opportunity to foster skills in translational research to maximise future opportunity for public health impact.

Associate Professor De Courten’s fellowship also grants $50,000 in research funding to support her project in chronic disease prevention. In addition to this she was also recently awarded a Royal Australasian College of Physicians Fellowship.

"On behalf on SPHPM I would like to congratulate Associate Professor De Courten and Dr Harrison on their impressive achievements - their work is making an important contribution to public health," Professor John McNeil, Head of SPHPM said.
