SPHPM teaching excellence rewarded

SPHPM’s Associate Professor Dragan Ilic and Dr Basia Diug were recently awarded the prestigious Monash Education Academy Fellowship, in recognition of their teaching excellence.
Dr Diug was recognised for her work coordinating several large units in the Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree programs, as well as her development of the Teaching Associate Coaching Toolkit, which in 2015 was responsible for training 90 SPHPM teaching associate staff.

Associate Professor Ilic was recognised for his work in the Monash University Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Health Science degree and Master of Public Health (online) degree. He was also acknowledged for his contribution to the academic literature in evidence-based clinical practice.

“From all of us at SPHPM I would like to congratulate Associate Professor Ilic and Dr Diug – their commitment to education and our students is exemplary, and they are an asset to both the School and the wider Monash community,” said Professor John McNeil, Head of SPHPM.

The fellowships are intended to provide an opportunity for high achieving Monash staff to take an active role in shaping the future of education at Monash and to foster professional development for peers.
